925 Sterling Silver Ring Carat Stamp - Bent
If you're making sterling silver jewellery and want to mark it with a 925 hallmark, this stamp does the job cleanly and accurately. The curved neck is the feature that sets it apart from a standard straight stamp: the bent angle lets you reach inside ring bands as well as other tight or awkward spots that a straight stamp can't access easily. It's a versatile hallmarking stamp that works across pendants, earrings, and flat pieces, with the added ability to get inside rings.
Used with a hammer on a steel bench block, it leaves a crisp, clean 925 impression in a single strike once you've found the right amount of force. The tip is 1.0mm high, which gives a readable mark without being so large it's awkward on narrower surfaces. Use a general purpose hammer or brass mallet rather than a hammer designed for precious metal work such as a chasing hammer or goldsmith's hammer, as these will damage over time from stamping.
If you're new to hallmarking, the standard approach is to test on a scrap piece of silver first to dial in your hammer strike before stamping a finished piece.
Worth knowing:
- Curved neck gives access to ring bands and other hard-to-reach areas
- Produces a clean 925 hallmark impression with a single strike
- 1.0mm stamp size, readable on most surfaces
- Use with a general purpose hammer or brass mallet and steel bench block, not a precious metal hammer such as a chasing or goldsmith's hammer
- Test on scrap silver first to find the right hammer weight
