Will I learn enough skills to start making jewellery at home?Β
Yes, you learn basic jewellery making skills in every workshop. After the workshop, you also receive detailed making instructions, a list of tools to buy, a list of suppliers, so you know where to buy metal and have things cast. Tools are also available for purchase in the studio. We have put together fantasticΒ jewellery tool kits containing the same tools you'll be using in class.Β

How long are theΒ jewellery making classes?
Jewellery workshops are one and two days long. They're designed to give you lots of useful skills without the long-term commitment needing to return each week.Β

PleaseΒ email Bec to arrange.Β

What do I need to bring to the workshop?
You will receive an information pack email in the week prior to the workshop. It will give you all the detailsΒ you need, such as what to wear, where to go and anything you might need to bring.Β

Can I take photos and video during the workshop?
You're welcome to take photos and/or video important parts of the workshop, such as soldering. For the privacy of others in the class, please don't video or photograph other participants without their permission.

Do I needΒ to buy tools or equipment?
All of the tools, equipment and materials are provided. However, if you decide to make your piece from gold, this will be an additional fee. Up to 70 grams of sterling silver is included in your workshop fee.Β Tools are available for purchase in the studio.

Can I work with gold or platinum?
You can also choose to make your piecesΒ from 9ct or 18ct yellow, white or rose gold for an additional fee.Β

Do I get to take home what I make?

What happens if a workshop is scheduled and a Code Red Fire Danger Rating is declared for that day?
Code Red conditions are the worst conditions for a bush or grassfire. The Country Fire Authority advises Victorians that in response to bushfire threat on a Code Red day, leaving Designated Bushfire Prone Areas the night before or early in the morning is the safest option.

As Pod Studio is located in a bushfire prone area, all workshops scheduled on days declared as Code Red will be postponed and the studio will not be open. These workshops will be rescheduled for a later date. Where possible, workshops will be cancelled the day before or as soon as a Code Red day has been announced. You will be contacted by phone at least one dayΒ prior if your workshop is being postponed due to to a Code Red Day.
