This is by far one of the most valuable and most used items in our studio. We use mitre vice jigs in every ring making jewellery class for filing straight the ends of our ring wire or sheet before bending and soldering it. These are really helpful if your filing isn't so straight, which is the case for most people when you're starting out.
This vice will save you time and help you create nice tight even joins that will be perfect for soldering. This is particularly important when you are making rings of a larger width like the base ring for spinner/mediation rings. It can be really difficult to get these ends to line up, but this vice makes it a breeze.
If you've ever struggled with uneven cuts before bending, aligning or soldering like we have, this vice will be a total game changer. It's also the secret weapon for some of the cleanest looking ring joins that we produce in class-and one of the most reliable friends in our toolbox.
