A-Z+6 Steel Jewellers Ring Mandrel

A ring mandrel is one of those tools you'll reach for constantly once you start making rings, and having a good one makes a genuine difference. This is a solid steel mandrel with calibrated sizing from A through to Z+6, which means it covers the full range you're likely to ever need, whether you're making a delicate stacking ring or something substantial for a larger finger.

The calibrated sizing is worth paying attention to. Not all mandrels are calibrated accurately, which means the size markings can shift as you move up and down the taper. We've returned mandrels to manufacturers for exactly this reason. This one is accurate, and the size markings are clearly engraved along the length so you always know exactly where you're working.

You'll use this mandrel for forming rings around the taper, checking the size of a ring as you work, rounding out a ring that's gone a little oval, and stretching a ring up a size by hammering gently over the steel.
