A burnisher is one of those small tools that makes a surprisingly big difference once you start setting stones. This curved burnisher is designed for smoothing bezels after you have pushed them over the stone, taking a slightly rough or uneven edge and turning it into a clean, polished finish in a few passes.
Because the working end is curved, this burnishing tool gets into spots a straight burnisher tool can't reach easily, particularly tight bezels or settings close to a ring shank. Run the curved tip along the metal you have already pushed over the stone and it burnishes the surface smooth, compacting the metal and bringing up a glossy shine at the same time. It's one of the bezel setting tools we reach for most often in the studio, on almost every bezel set piece that comes across the bench.
The 38mm stainless steel curved end holds up well to repeated use and doesn't need any special care beyond keeping it clean and dry.
