Soldering is a two-step job: flux before, pickle after. This pack puts both on your bench at once, and it costs less than buying them separately. The flux protects the join while it heats, and the pickle cleans off the dark oxide and glassy flux residue once you're done, so the piece comes out ready for filing and polishing.
Handy Flux is a flux paste, so it stays where you brush it rather than running off small parts. It's the soldering flux we'd reach for on every kind of join, from jump rings to bezels, and it works as a silver solder flux on sterling, fine silver and gold alike.
Our Citric Acid Pickle is a milder alternative to traditional acid pickles, which makes it a comfortable choice for a home studio. Mix it with warm water and keep it warm while you work, as a pickling solution cleans much faster warm than cold. Drop your piece in after soldering and quenching in water, leave it for a few minutes, and it comes out a clean matte white, ready for the next step.
