A wax ring sizer reamer is the tool you reach for straight after sawing your ring blank off the wax tube. Reaming the inside to the correct size first tells you exactly how much wax you have to work with. This jumbo version is the only one on the market that reams a genuinely full range, right up to a size Z+6 (US 17). Most single blade reamers stop around a size S, so if you're making anything larger, this is the one to have on the bench.
It's fitted with eight blades instead of one. As you turn it inside the wax ring tube, the wax shaves away evenly on all sides rather than in a single deep groove. That means less clean up and a smoother, more even inner wall to build from.
This reamer is solid steel, so it's noticeably heavier in the hand than a plastic reamer. That extra weight helps it cut cleanly and hold up to repeated use on the bench.
We do not recommend the plastic wax ring sizers. These are cheap imitations made in China. They are poor quality and will create lines on the inside of wax ring bands that are difficult to remove.
