Soldering Board Set

A soldering board gives you a stable, heat-resistant surface to work on, and different jobs call for different boards. This set gives you three, so you've got the right surface on hand whatever you're making.

The ceramic soldering board has a heat-reflective surface that suits general soldering work, and its four feet keep it stable and off the bench. The honeycomb board's holes let heat circulate underneath your piece, and you can prop pins into the holes to hold work at an angle while you solder. The charcoal block absorbs and holds heat rather than reflecting it, which gives more even, gentle heating, handy for delicate pieces or longer soldering jobs where you don't want heat bouncing straight back up.

• Never rest these boards directly on a wooden bench, they heat up considerably during use and can scorch or set fire to timber underneath. Protect your bench with fire bricks.
