A-Z Ring Mandrel and Dead Blow Mallet Set

If you're making rings and you don't yet have a mandrel and mallet, this is the set to start with. The A-Z+6 ring mandrel and the Halder dead blow mallet are the two tools we reach for constantly in the studio, and they work together as a pair in a way that makes ring making noticeably easier.

The ring mandrel is calibrated across the full A to Z+6 range with clearly engraved size markings along its length. That accuracy matters: when you need to know exactly what size a ring is, or form it to a specific size, you need a mandrel you can trust. The markings are consistent all the way down the taper.

The Halder dead blow mallet is what you use to drive the ring down the mandrel. The nylon head won't mar your metal, and the steel shot inside the head concentrates each strike without the rebound you'd get from a standard mallet. You get more force with less effort, and your metal stays unmarked. It's what we use in the studio every time we need to make a ring round after soldering.
