Flush cutters are one of those tools you use constantly without thinking about it: cutting wire to length, trimming solder wire, snipping jump rings, removing excess after wrapping. The difference between flush cutters and standard side cutters is in how the blades meet. Flush cutters have one flat face and one bevelled face, which means one side of the cut is flush and clean rather than leaving a pointed pinch on the end of the wire. That matters whenever the cut end of a wire will be visible or felt.
These are manufactured in Germany for Pod Jewellery from new tool steel alloy with a Rockwell hardness of 58 at the cutting edge. The extra fine tips let you get into tight spaces and cut close to a surface or component, and the blades are superbly polished. The double-leaf spring keeps the jaws open between cuts so your hand doesn't have to do the work. The PVC cushion grip is comfortable for longer sessions.
At 135mm these are a practical bench size, not too long and not too short.
One important note: these cutters are for non-ferrous wire only. Silver, gold, copper, brass, and bronze are all fine. Do not use them on steel or iron wire, including steel wire for armatures or steel binding wire. Using them on ferrous wire will damage the blades. If you use them correctly, they will last for years.
