A ring measuring stick does a different job to a ring mandrel. The mandrel is for forming and shaping rings; this stick is for measuring them. You slide a finished ring down the tapered stick until it stops, read the size at that point, and you have an accurate measurement. It's a quick, reliable way to check ring sizes as you work, check a customer's existing ring, or verify that a finished piece is exactly the size you intended.
The sizes are engraved directly into the aluminium, not printed or labelled, so they won't fade or peel over time.
One thing worth being clear about: this is a ring sizing tool for measuring only. Do not use it for shaping rings or hammering metal over it. The aluminium construction is not designed to handle that kind of impact and will be damaged. For shaping and forming, you need the steel A-Z+6 ring mandrel.
