Rubber Bench Block

A rubber bench block is one of those quiet workhorses that earns its place on the bench quickly. It gives you a non-slip, shock-absorbing surface to work on, and it's where you place your steel bench block to dampen noise and vibration during hammering, stamping, and disc cutting.

On its own, a rubber bench block is useful for straightening bent wire and removing minor dents without marking the surface of your metal. Use a dead blow mallet or rawhide mallet directly on the rubber to work metal without scratching or distorting it. The firm vulcanised rubber absorbs the impact while giving you enough resistance to work against.

Placed underneath a steel bench block, it does two things: it stops the steel block from sliding around during hammering, and it significantly reduces the sound of metal striking steel. If you're working in a shared space or a home studio, that noise reduction makes a real difference.

The rubber block is 100mm x 100mm x 25mm, which gives you a generous working surface and comfortably accommodates the steel bench block on top.
