A crucible holder does one job: keep your crucible steady and positioned exactly where you need it while you pour molten metal. This WHIP-style holder does that job with a lot less bulk than traditional crucible tongs.
Made from stainless steel, the spring action holds the crucible with steady tension so it doesn't slip mid-pour, and because the crucible sits close to the end of the arm, you can get right up next to your mould rather than pouring from a distance. It's also noticeably lighter in the hand than a longer-handled holder.
Invented by master jeweller Jay Whaley, this small WHIP holder fits our Small crucible (44mm diameter) and our Medium crucible (57mm diameter), along with anything in between those two sizes.
