Cross Locking Tweezers - Curved Tip

The curved tip is what makes these cross-locking soldering tweezers a different tool from the straight version, not just a shape variation. When you're working on a ring or a piece with a raised element and you need to hold something at an angle, reach behind a component, or apply pressure from a direction that a straight tip can't access, the curved jaw gives you that approach. We keep both in the studio because there are jobs that each one handles better than the other.

The cross-locking mechanism works the same as the straight version: squeeze to open, release and they hold. That self-locking action means you can position your piece, let go, and pick up your torch without the metal shifting. The serrated tips grip well without marking the metal, and the fibre-insulated handles keep the heat away from your fingers during soldering.

If you're building a soldering kit from scratch, the straight tweezers are the one to start with. Once you're doing regular bench work, having the curved version alongside them covers almost every holding situation you'll encounter. These are included in the Essential Soldering Kit.

Worth knowing:

  • Curved tip reaches behind components and holds at angles the straight version cannot
  • Self-locking action holds pieces hands-free during soldering
  • Fibre-insulated handles protect fingers from heat transfer
